Located on the
west bank of the Nechelik Channel of the Colville River
Delta, about 35 miles from the Beaufort Sea coast, 60 miles
west of Prudhoe Bay, 380 miles north of Fairbanks.

CLIMATE:
Temperature remains below freezing most of the year, rising
above freezing only 122 per year. July is the warmest
month. Precipitation measures 5 - 6 inches per year. Total
snowfall averages 20 inches.

FACILITY
The community
is served by a Presbyterian Church. There is a school with
grades Preschool through 12. There is a public electricity
system and water is delivered from a freshwater lagoon.
Freight arrives by barge or plane. Community spirit is high
in this remote Alaskan Village. There are activities year
